Holcim Azerbaijan employees faces pressures

We conduct our activities in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Code of Conduct and policies of LafargeHolcim company, support the development of healthy mind, principal judgment and exchange of views in the business environment and provide a strong sensitivity and response to illegal and non-transparent attitudes and actions.

It has been observed that the transparent activities of our company conflict with the interests of some criminal forces and they become concerned, so they initiate illegal actions. As a result, threatening messages were recently sent to the Holcim Azerbaijan management board to exert psychological pressures on one of them, a foreigner holding one of the senior positions in our company faced threats and attempt was made to injure him physically. We immediately informed law enforcement agencies on the incident and appropriate investigations were launched. Taking the interests of foreign investors into account we also informed the relevant diplomatic missions about the incident.

Those who make efforts to such actions and try to hinder the transparency of our company should realize that Holcim Azerbaijan can/have enough power to protect its employees, values, and principles and such pressures cannot dissuade the company from its approaches.

At the same time, they should know that the Azerbaijan authority has always provided comprehensive conditions for foreign investors so that they can operate in a secure business environment throughout the country and such negative consequences will never undermine the business environment and image of the country.

Company management says confidently that soon the criminals will be arrested by law enforcement bodies and will get their due punishment.
